Where Builders Meet

We’ve spent years talking in a Discord server.
Now we’re doing it in person, over chai.

Wanderers + Chai is The Wandering Pro’s in-person meetup. Builders in one room, talking about what they’re making, what’s working, and what isn’t.

How the First One Went

Three years after starting online, we finally sat in the same room.

Wanderers + Chai, The Wandering Pro's first meetup in Islamabad: builders seated in a circle, founders demoing products on the big screen, and groups chatting after the talks
Wrapped Up

Wanderers + Chai, Islamabad

Saturday, 17 October 2026 · Gulberg Greens · Hosted by Bahroze Ali
The Mix
First semester students, final year students, freelancers with international clients, people a decade into their careers, and builders whose products have real customers.
Circle Intros
Everyone sat in a circle and took a turn in the middle: who you are and what you’re building. A good test of how well you present yourself.
Networking
People who are where you want to be, next to people who are where you were. Planned for two hours, it ran close to three.
Product Pitches
We closed by calling a few builders up to pitch what they’re working on, live on the big screen.

Who Shows Up

Four kinds of builders. You’re probably one of them.

The Shipper

“I’ve got a v1 and a handful of users. Now what?”

Bring it to the table, and if you’re up for it, demo it live.

🎬 Bring a Demo
The Tinkerer

“I’ve got an idea, maybe three. I just haven’t started”

Come hear how the people in the room actually got started, and leave with a first step.

The Newcomer

“I found this on Luma. Who are you people?”

Day one server members and total newcomers sit at the same table. No inside jokes required.

The Local

“I’m in Islamabad, and my Saturday evening is open”

Meetups are in person, in Islamabad for now, so check the city before you register.

📍 Islamabad

How the Evening Runs

Light structure, real conversation. Nobody’s giving a keynote at a chai table.

Arrive and Grab a Chai

People trickle in, order, and settle. No agenda pressure, just faces finally matching the usernames.

A Quick, Short Welcome

Who we are in a minute, and how the evening runs. Then we get out of the way.

Networking

The main event. Find the people building near what you build, swap notes, and trade what’s working.

Live Product Demos

If you’re up for it, show what you’re building, right there at the table. Completely optional, always welcome.

What’s Next, and a Group Photo

Where to keep the conversation going, and a photo before everyone heads out.

The run of show can shift on the day, depending on how many people make it.

Can’t Make It? Join the Discord

The meetup is one evening. The Discord runs every day, and it’s where these same builders hang out the rest of the week.

Events FAQs

Who can come to Wanderers + Chai?+
Anyone building something of their own, or wanting to: developers, designers, freelancers, founders, people with a side project or a client list. Registration is approval based, so register on Luma and we’ll confirm.
Do I need to be in The Wandering Pro Discord?+
No. A good part of the room is new to the community. If you like the people, the Discord is where the conversation keeps going afterwards.
Why does registration need approval?+
Two reasons. It keeps spam out, and it makes sure everyone who registers can actually make it to the city. Luma lists events everywhere, so we check before confirming.
Where exactly is it?+
Our first meetup was in Gulberg Greens, Islamabad. For each event, the exact venue goes to approved guests through Luma, along with any updates before the day.
What should I bring?+
What you’re working on, what you’re stuck on, and your curiosity. No slides or pitch deck needed. If you want to demo your product, bring a laptop or your phone with it ready to go.
What if I can’t make it after registering?+
Update your RSVP on Luma as soon as you know. It helps us plan for the right number of people.
Will there be more events?+
That’s the plan. New events get announced in the Discord first, and they go up on our Luma calendar.

See You at the Next One

Keep an eye on our Luma calendar, or join the Discord to hear about the next one first.
